Overview
In February 2024, I purchased eCPPTv2 exam voucher and fortunately it was on sale so I bought it for $200 ($400 is the normal price for only exam voucher + 1 retake). I didn’t buy the eCPPTv2 course, you can if you need to but I didn’t.
The total exam time is 14 days. 7 days for lab access and 7 for report writing.
Exam Experience
As mentioned before, the available lab time is 7 days. I wrote the report as I went through the lab and due to my previous experience with HTB and others, with ease I was able to complete the exam within 48 hours including the report. (48 hours was a time constraint I put on myself as part of preparation for a next exam). After, like 20/21 days, I got my result and I passed. 😊

Exam Tips
- 7 days is a long time so relax and utilize everything you learned.
- Enumerate as much as possible even after getting root access, remember always Information helps.
- Learn and understand how pivoting works.
- Keep necessary materials such as VMs, tools ready for testing any given files, binaries etc.
- Write the report as you go through the exam labs, it will ease the report writing process. Follow their exam guidelines to write the report.
- Take breaks.
- This is a Blackbox Pentesting so approach it likewise, this is not a CTF.
Conclusion
INE fka eLearnSecurity didn’t include Active Directory materials to this course + exam , I wish they did.
